I don’t think I read any other book now that is not recommended by Booktok。 I normally jump into them blindly as well without reading the blurb or the book’s excerpt。 With that being said， it comes as no surprise to you or me that this book was recommended to me by booktok and I’m not mad I read it。 It wasn’t as good as I was expecting it to， to be honest。 In this book， we follow the story of Travis and Georgie as they discover they're in love with each other。 Georgie has been in love with her b I don’t think I read any other book now that is not recommended by Booktok。 I normally jump into them blindly as well without reading the blurb or the book’s excerpt。 With that being said， it comes as no surprise to you or me that this book was recommended to me by booktok and I’m not mad I read it。 It wasn’t as good as I was expecting it to， to be honest。 In this book， we follow the story of Travis and Georgie as they discover they're in love with each other。 Georgie has been in love with her brother’s best friend ever since she was a little girl， now that he’s back in town， she can show him that she’s not a little girl anymore and how much she’s grown since the last time he’s seen her。 Travis is back in town after his failed baseball career， he feels like shit and doesn’t want to deal with life。 That is until Georgie re-enters his life and shakes it upside down。 Travis gets a deal to be the voice man for a baseball team， but his reputation precedes him and the company doesn’t want to hire a player。 So， Georgie and he come up with a plan to fake-date so that the company thinks he’s settling down and being more serious。 The problem is Georgie is in love with him and she’s afraid his commitment issues will not allow him to have something good。 So， now they’re both entering uncharted territories and neither of them knows if the sacrifices are worth it。I must admit that this is my first time reading about a MC that's a professional clown--that's a new one for me。 And no wonder she has a hard time making her voice heard。 As a clown， Georgie is rarely taken seriously。 And it only takes for Travis to come along in her town for her to grow a pair of ovaries to start taking herself more seriously。 The book was cute and the spice was there。 Cute story。 。。。more

DNF after 54% of the audiobook。 All of these characters would benefit from some family counseling and Travis needs a lesson in recognizing and respecting boundaries。 The last straw was the line “he’d respected her feelings and she hadn’t even needed to ask。” （Brick and Morty is a hysterical name for a home remodeling business though。 I did enjoy that。）
