Summary

New York Times bestseller Tessa Bailey launches a super sexy new series featuring the blue collar men who work for a HGTV-esq house flipping business。

After an injury ends Travis Ford’s major league baseball career, he returns home to start over。 He just wants to hammer out his frustrations at his new construction gig and forget all about his glory days。 But he can’t even walk through town without someone recapping his greatest hits。 Or making a joke about his… bat。 And then there’s Georgie, his buddy’s little sister, who is definitely not a kid anymore。

Georgette Castle has crushed on her older brother’s best friend for years。 The grumpy, bear of a man working for her family’s house flipping business is a far cry from the charming sports star she used to know。 But a moody scowl doesn’t scare her and Georgie’s determined to show Travis he’s more than a pretty face and a batting average, even if it means putting her feelings aside to be “just friends。”

Travis wants to brood in peace。 But the girl he used to tease is now a funny, full-of-life woman who makes him feel whole again。 And he wants her。 So damn bad。 Except Georgie’s off limits and he knows he can’t give her what she deserves。 But she’s becoming the air he breathes and Travis can’t stay away, no matter how hard he tries。。。

I don’t think I read any other book now that is not recommended by Booktok。 I normally jump into them blindly as well without reading the blurb or the book’s excerpt。 With that being said, it comes as no surprise to you or me that this book was recommended to me by booktok and I’m not mad I read it。 It wasn’t as good as I was expecting it to, to be honest。 In this book, we follow the story of Travis and Georgie as they discover they're in love with each other。 Georgie has been in love with her b I don’t think I read any other book now that is not recommended by Booktok。 I normally jump into them blindly as well without reading the blurb or the book’s excerpt。 With that being said, it comes as no surprise to you or me that this book was recommended to me by booktok and I’m not mad I read it。 It wasn’t as good as I was expecting it to, to be honest。 In this book, we follow the story of Travis and Georgie as they discover they're in love with each other。 Georgie has been in love with her brother’s best friend ever since she was a little girl, now that he’s back in town, she can show him that she’s not a little girl anymore and how much she’s grown since the last time he’s seen her。 Travis is back in town after his failed baseball career, he feels like shit and doesn’t want to deal with life。 That is until Georgie re-enters his life and shakes it upside down。 Travis gets a deal to be the voice man for a baseball team, but his reputation precedes him and the company doesn’t want to hire a player。 So, Georgie and he come up with a plan to fake-date so that the company thinks he’s settling down and being more serious。 The problem is Georgie is in love with him and she’s afraid his commitment issues will not allow him to have something good。 So, now they’re both entering uncharted territories and neither of them knows if the sacrifices are worth it。I must admit that this is my first time reading about a MC that's a professional clown--that's a new one for me。 And no wonder she has a hard time making her voice heard。 As a clown, Georgie is rarely taken seriously。 And it only takes for Travis to come along in her town for her to grow a pair of ovaries to start taking herself more seriously。 The book was cute and the spice was there。 Cute story。 。。。more

Loved this one。 I read it after It Happened One Summer and it confirmed that I've found a new favorite romance author in Tessa Bailey。 Georgie and Travis are adorable, and I loved the whole brother's best friend/annoying little sister trope to be fun and adorable。 Spicy AF also。 Loved this one。 I read it after It Happened One Summer and it confirmed that I've found a new favorite romance author in Tessa Bailey。 Georgie and Travis are adorable, and I loved the whole brother's best friend/annoying little sister trope to be fun and adorable。 Spicy AF also。 。。。more

3。5/5 ⭐I was hella excited to read this one!!! But there was something about this one I didn't like。 I think it was the zero tension build and there was no detail, etc! It seemed very plain to me - EXCEPT FOR THE SPICE!!!4/5 ⭐ FOR THE SPICE ALONE 🥵🥵🥵I am also NOT a fan of sports and sport love stories in general so that could be it too。 It had it's cute parts, don't get me wrong!! But I think it could have definitely been better。Also - I hate the pet name “baby girl” (unless it’s being used by D 3。5/5 ⭐I was hella excited to read this one!!! Well, that was cringy。 Empezando por los “baby girl” y reafirmándolo de manera contundente con las múltiples sex scenes, de las cuáles ninguna se salvó de la cringynosidad。 Tan malas eran, que eran divertidas。 Pero en general la historia no estuvo mal, aunque todo ese asunto del club no le vi ni pies ni cabeza, ni razón por que todo el pueblo quisiera pertenecer。 Ninguna historia de las amigas se desarrolló, ni las historias de los principales, ni siquiera Georgie y su show para niños, ni de Tra Well, that was cringy。 Empezando por los “baby girl” y reafirmándolo de manera contundente con las múltiples sex scenes, de las cuáles ninguna se salvó de la cringynosidad。 Tan malas eran, que eran divertidas。 Pero en general la historia no estuvo mal, aunque todo ese asunto del club no le vi ni pies ni cabeza, ni razón por que todo el pueblo quisiera pertenecer。 Ninguna historia de las amigas se desarrolló, ni las historias de los principales, ni siquiera Georgie y su show para niños, ni de Travis y su carrera。 En fin, para darle unos puntos extras y como in this household apreciamos el uso de lub y sex toys le damos puntos para rellenar por sus breves menciones。 。。。more

Loved! I felt so protective of Georgie and Travis。 The only complaint was the use of “baby girl” as the chosen term of endearment。 But different strokes for different folks I guess。 Overall, 5 stars :)

OMG THIS BOOK !!! So so so good!! georgie was so cute and so relatable - she was so funny and I totally relate to how her famous treats her like a child even at a grown age and yet she was still strong through it!And travis。。。 Oh i feel so much for travis!!! He is so sweet and understanding and such a gentelman - not even in the bare minimum way。 Also, he's incredibly hot like so hot。They both fit so well with each other, they understood each other and that's what made this book so perfect。 i lo OMG THIS BOOK !!! I think that book is written really well。 But it's just toooo much for me, ya know?Cliche。 The whole: I'm soo in love with him since the childhood。 The whole: she was ugly wearing those clothes, but boom, wearing something revealing made her sexy。To be honest。 I couldn't stomach it all and didn't finish it。It's not it for me, but I am sure some people thrive on these books🤷🏼‍♀️ maybe it's the unrealistic careers that don't fit, or the whole having a crush over fucking decades。Its written really I think that book is written really well。 But it's just toooo much for me, ya know?Cliche。 The whole: I'm soo in love with him since the childhood。 The whole: she was ugly wearing those clothes, but boom, wearing something revealing made her sexy。To be honest。 I couldn't stomach it all and didn't finish it。It's not it for me, but I am sure some people thrive on these books🤷🏼‍♀️ maybe it's the unrealistic careers that don't fit, or the whole having a crush over fucking decades。Its written really well though。 。。。more

I don't like reading books written in third person cause I feel like I can't connect with the characters, however, I still gave it a try, and despite being written in third person I really really liked it。 I don't like reading books written in third person cause I feel like I can't connect with the characters, however, I still gave it a try, and despite being written in third person I really really liked it。 。。。more

I don't even know what to say abt this one。 Most of it was cute, like a typical contemporary romance novel, but some parts rly had me pushing through。 For example, the amount of times he called her babygirl, i was this close to ending it all。 I counted and 63 FUCKING TIMES HE CALLED HER BABYGIRL。 EVERYTIME HE SAID IT I STG A BABY DIED。 also, she was a LITERAL CLOWN and then she got mad when her parents didn't take her seriously LIKE GIRL I WOULD LAUGH ALLLLL THE TIME, THERE WAS ONE PART WHEN SHE I don't even know what to say abt this one。 Most of it was cute, like a typical contemporary romance novel, but some parts rly had me pushing through。 For example, the amount of times he called her babygirl, i was this close to ending it all。 I counted and 63 FUCKING TIMES HE CALLED HER BABYGIRL。 EVERYTIME HE SAID IT I STG A BABY DIED。 also, she was a LITERAL CLOWN and then she got mad when her parents didn't take her seriously LIKE GIRL I WOULD LAUGH ALLLLL THE TIME, THERE WAS ONE PART WHEN SHE SHOWED UP IN CLOWN MAKEUP AND WAS MAD WHEN PPL LAUGH BUT I WOULD BE DYINGGGGG IF I WAS THERE。 I just didn't like most of it bc it was veryyy cringy and kinda just annoying but i DO NOT get how the same person that wrote 'Tools of Engagement' and 'It Happened One Summer' wrote THIS book。 anyways i've already read the third one, so i'm gonna read the second。 so let's pray it's better than this 。。。more

Envolvente! Emocionante! it's fine, it's not that bad bit that good honestly i thought i would like tessa her writing more but it's just fine。 The end was annoying because it just felt like she was pushing that fight in for the last 3 chapters to end with a dramatic happy ending。 It felt very pushed because travis could have fixed the fight at the run immediatly by just saying that his father was there and thats why。 Olive wouldve understood it immediatly, but okay。 it's fine, it's not that bad bit that good honestly i thought i would like tessa her writing more but it's just fine。 The end was annoying because it just felt like she was pushing that fight in for the last 3 chapters to end with a dramatic happy ending。 It felt very pushed because travis could have fixed the fight at the run immediatly by just saying that his father was there and thats why。 Olive wouldve understood it immediatly, but okay。 。。。more

Georgie is so cute and lovable, and I’m really glad that Travis was able to get his head clear and out of the shadow of his father’s abuse。 Would definitely read again! 10/10 for the steamy writing at certain parts, too!

DNF after 54% of the audiobook。 All of these characters would benefit from some family counseling and Travis needs a lesson in recognizing and respecting boundaries。 The last straw was the line “he’d respected her feelings and she hadn’t even needed to ask。” (Brick and Morty is a hysterical name for a home remodeling business though。 I did enjoy that。)

If you picture Travis Ford as Chris Evans this book will be the best book you've ever fucking read-only because of Travis Ford。 But I was a little uncomfortable by Georgie's character。 Georgie is the little sister and everyone in the book has this light that Georgie is still a child SHE IS FUCKING 23 and not to mention her occupation is a fucking party clown。 When I finished this book I thought it was a four but after looking back I gave it a three, even the smut was painting her as a child。 If you picture Travis Ford as Chris Evans this book will be the best book you've ever fucking read-only because of Travis Ford。 But I was a little uncomfortable by Georgie's character。 Georgie is the little sister and everyone in the book has this light that Georgie is still a child SHE IS FUCKING 23 and not to mention her occupation is a fucking party clown。 When I finished this book I thought it was a four but after looking back I gave it a three, even the smut was painting her as a child。 。。。more

3⭐️ Picked this up because I wanted a quick and easy read。 I was really enjoying the beginning, but kind of levelled out as I read further。 I thought some parts were cute, and the spice was decent。 Not the biggest fan of the pet name, but I powered on。Some parts were really well written, and some fell flat for me。 I also felt like the ending was a bit rushed。 All in all, it was a decent book。 Will I buy the other books in the Hot and Hammered series? Probably not。 It just missed the mark for me 3⭐️ Picked this up because I wanted a quick and easy read。 I was really enjoying the beginning, but kind of levelled out as I read further。 I thought some parts were cute, and the spice was decent。 Not the biggest fan of the pet name, but I powered on。Some parts were really well written, and some fell flat for me。 I also felt like the ending was a bit rushed。 All in all, it was a decent book。 Will I buy the other books in the Hot and Hammered series?
